Appendix C: Test Tools in AIRWays Authoring

This section provides an overview of the tools you can make available to students in the tests that you create in AIRWays Authoring. You can select which tools to include in your tests from the Test Properties menu in the Test Content Editor toolbar (see the section Specifying Test Properties).

To include a tool in your test, set that tool’s toggle to On or select the required option for that tool from its drop-down list.

All tests automatically include Zoom tools for magnifying content on the test page.

Table 10 provides descriptions of the tools available in AIRWays Authoring.

Table 10: Overview of Test Tools
Tool	Description
Desmos Calculator	Allows students to use an on-screen calculator. You can choose from multiple types of calculators.
Dictionary	Allows students to look up words in an on-screen Merriam-Webster dictionary. Multiple dictionary types and settings are available.
Highlighter	Allows students to highlight test content.
Mark for Review	Allows students to mark items that they wish to return to later. Marked items display a flag icon by the question number on the test page and in the Questions drop-down list.
Masking	Allows students to cover distracting areas of the test page.
Periodic Table	Allows students to consult an on-screen periodic table.
Strikethrough	Allows students to cross out response options in a Multiple Choice or Multiple Select item.
Student Comments	Allows students to enter notes in a digital notepad.
Thesaurus	Allows students to look up words in an on-screen thesaurus. Multiple thesaurus settings are available.
