Responding to Test Questions

Test questions may require students to do the following tasks:

Some test pages may have only one question and others may have more. Some questions may consist of multiple parts that students must answer. After students respond to the questions on a page, they select Next to proceed to the next page. Students do not have to answer every question before proceeding to the next page. If they do not respond to a question, they may return to it later to do so.

All responses are saved automatically.

Questions grouped with the same stimulus are tabbed for individual viewing. Students select the tabs in the upper-right corner to proceed to the corresponding question.

If a question refers to a particular section of a reading passage, an icon of that question number may appear in the corresponding part of the passage. In some cases, part of a reading passage may become highlighted when students navigate to the question that references that section.

Note: Students can use the Student Digital Test Preview to familiarize themselves with the question types that may appear on tests.
