Signing in to the Student Interface

This section describes the student sign-in process for the Student Interface. Students follow this procedure when starting a new test or resuming a paused test.

Warning: Students must sign in to the appropriate testing site:

Enable Settings from the Student Sign-In Page

Students can modify the settings they want to use during the sign-in process. Some settings, such as color-choice and print size, may only persist until you set the actual test settings during the TA approval process.

  1. To edit settings, students select the cog wheel in the upper-right corner of the page.
  2. In the window that pops up, students select their preferred settings from the available options.
    • If audible page directions are available, students can adjust their pitch, rate, and volume settings.
    • If language settings are available in the Change Language panel, students can select an option from the Select Language drop-down list to choose the language in which button labels, messages, and other elements are displayed in the Student Interface, not including the actual test content.
  3. To apply the settings, students select OK.

Access Page Directions from the Student Sign-In Pages

On all sign-in pages, students can read or listen to page directions.

  1. To expand the Text-to-Speech card, students select Expand TTS Card Icon. The expanded Text-to-Speech card displays instructions pertaining to the current sign-in page.
  2. Students can read the instructions that appear or click Text-to-Speech button to listen to them.
