Remote Testing Communication Tools

When taking a remote test, students can use some additional tools to communicate with the TA.

Send Messages to the TA

When testing remotely, students can communicate with the TA by sending a message. Messages sent to the TA cannot be viewed by other students in the session. The TA can view and respond to the student's message using the Chat window on their device.

1.From the lower-left corner of the screen, students select their image. The Chat window pops up.

2.Students select Messages, then enter a message in the Type a new message field and select Send mesage icon .

When the TA sends a message, the Chat window will automatically open to display the message. Students can also view and respond to broadcasted messages sent by the TA in the same way.

Video Conferencing with the TA

Although students cannot initiate a one-on-one video conference with the TA, the TA can video-conference with students during remote testing. When the TA starts a video-conference with a student, the Video Conference window automatically opens, displaying a split-screen view of the student and TA.

Sending a Request for Assistance

Students can virtually “raise their hand” to request assistance when taking a remote test.

1.From the lower-left corner of the screen, students select their image. The Chat window pops up.

2.Students select Raise Hand. A notification will be sent to the TA,

When the TA responds, the student's Chat window will automatically display the message or start a video-conference.
