About the Demographic Sub-Group Report

In any Assessment Report for multiple students, you can use the Breakdown By button in the Features & Tools menu to compare performance between different demographic sub-groups. You may want to do this, for example, in order to identify sub-groups that need more instructional support, or to narrow down the report to students who tested out of their grade level.

If you prefer, you can view a record of students’ past demographic data, including enrolled grade, by setting a date for which to view students.

To view test results by demographic sub-groups:

1.Select Breakdown By from the Features & Tools menu. The Breakdown Attributes window opens. Select up to three demographic categories.

An Include unspecified values checkbox also appears. Some students who complete tests do not have specific demographic information in TIDE. These students are considered to have unspecified values. To include data for these students, select the checkbox.

2.Select Apply. Demographic columns appear, one for each category. These columns replace the columns to the left of the Total accordion section. A row appears for each possible combination of demographic sub-groups in the selected categories. If there are no students in a particular combination, no row appears for that combination.

For information on viewing a single combination of demographic sub-groups, refer to About the Demographic Combination Report.
