Overview of the Performance on Tests Report

This page displays a table of assessments. When you navigate to the Performance on Tests report from the Dashboard, it is filtered to display only the test group you selected there. You can change the test groups that appear using the Filters panel on the left. For more information on filtering, refer to Working with Centralized Reporting Tables.

If you’re a teacher, your Performance on Tests report includes the My Students table at the bottom of the page, listing all your students. For more information, refer to About the My Students Table.

About the Assessments Table

The assessments table in the Performance on Tests report displays a row for each assessment.

This table allows you to access the corresponding Assessment Reports for each assessment listed. The report that you access by selecting the name of a test depends on your user role:

From any Assessment Report, you can return to the Performance on Tests report by selecting Performance on Tests in the upper-left corner of the page.

Table 1 describes the columns in the Assessments table.

Column Description
Assessment Name

Name of the test. To access Assessment Reports, select the assessment name.

Test Group Type of test.
Test Grade Grade associated with the test.
Test Reason

Category assigned to a test opportunity. Typically indicates the timeframe in which an interim or benchmark test was taken.

The available test reasons are Pretest, Post Test, Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer, Interim Test Opportunity 1, Interim Test Opportunity 2, Interim Test Opportunity 3, and Unassigned.

If the same test was completed with separate test reasons, a separate row appears for each test reason.

Student Count Number of your students who took the assessment with the given test reason.
Average Score

Mean average assessment score for all your students.

When a test does not use numeric scores, this column may read “n/a”.

Performance Distribution

Percentage of your students who performed at each performance level.

When tests do not use performance levels, this column may be absent or may read “n/a”.

Clicking the More info button button beside a performance distribution bar displays a legend with more information about performance levels.

Date Last Taken Most recent date on which any of your students completed the assessment.

To compare your students’ performance with that of your state, district, and/or school:

Select Compare with aggregates button to the right of an assessment name. Additional rows expand below that row, displaying data for larger groups of students. State data may be delayed depending on your state’s policies. By comparing your students with larger groups, you can make sure they are performing on par with their peers and take action if they’re not.

To hide the comparison rows, select Compare with aggregates close button.
