For Room Scribes: Adjust the Official Proficiency Standard Cut Values

During the Final Moderation step, the room should reach a consensus regarding the official placement for the proficiency standard bookmarks in the booklet. At this point, the Panelist who has been assigned the role of Room Scribe by the Room Lead may need to adjust the booklet's final proficiency standard cut values on the Moderation Chart tab of the Review Panel.

Note: Not all sessions will include a Moderation step. If the room agrees that the original cut values set in the graph are accurate, you do not need to modify them.

The Moderation Chart tab displays a graph illustrating the median bookmark placements for the entire room, along with a line of best fit for each proficiency standard across related booklets with the same subject and test group. You can click a label to hide it from the graph.

  1. Click menu icon in the top-right corner and open the Moderation Chart tab of the Review Panel.
  2. If you need to modify the official proficiency standard cut values for the booklet, click the point on the graph indicating the first cut value for the item booklet. A panel appears below, displaying the current cut value item placement.
    1. In the Cut Value field, enter the number for the first item in the booklet that should be associated with this proficiency standard.
    2. If prompted, enter the reason why you are modifying the original cut value.
  3. Repeat the previous step for each cut value in the booklet, as necessary.
