Monitoring Students' Testing Progress

After you approve students for testing, you can monitor the testing progress for each student logged in to your session from the tables displayed on the TA Site (see Figure 1).

At the start of the test, all your students will be listed in the Students Testing Successfully table. If TDS detects that a student requires assistance, the Students Who May Need Help table appears at the top. This can occur when a student’s test has been paused due to a security issue, such as the launch of a forbidden application.

Table 2 describes the columns in the student test progress tables. To sort the table by a given column, click that column header.

Table 2: Columns in the Student Test Progress Tables
Column Description
Student Information The name and Registration Number of the student in the session.
Opp # Opportunity number for the student’s selected test.
Time

Depending on a student’s timing test setting, the timer in this column indicates the approximate remaining time in the student’s test. For students with certain extended timing settings, this clock will show elapsed time in the student’s test. There may be a brief delay between the student’s test and the time displayed in this column.

Progress Indicates the student's test progress. A progress bar appears, showing the percentage of questions the student has completed so far.
Status

Current test status for each student in the session.

If TDS detects that a student’s test may be experiencing connection issues, it displays a warning icon ( Warning icon) in this column.

Test Settings

Indicates whether the student is testing with the standard (default) test settings or testing with custom accommodations.

To view a student’s settings for the current test opportunity, click View button.

Actions

The Pause button in this column pauses a student’s test. If a student's test pauses, a more info icon displays in the Status column that provides information about how the test became paused. However, the more info icon is not displayed if the Proctor pauses a student’s test. For more information, see the section Pausing a Student's Test.

Table 3 describes the status codes in the Status column of the student test progress table.

Note: The data in the test progress tables refreshes at regular intervals, but you can also refresh the tables manually by clicking Refresh button in the upper-right corner (see Figure 1).
