Scheduling Test Sessions

Schedule a Test Session in Advance
You can schedule test sessions in advance and provide the session ID and session link to your students prior to the test date. Test sessions scheduled for a future date are listed in the Upcoming Sessions tab. Once a scheduled test session window becomes active, the test session moves to the Active Sessions tab, where you can begin the session.
1.To schedule a test session, select the Upcoming Sessions tab on the TA Site dashboard. To navigate back to the Test Administration Dashboard from another page, select Back to Dashboard from the user menu in the top right corner of the page.
2.Select Schedule a Session to schedule a fully in-person session.
Note: If you wish to administer the test session to students in the classroom and to students at home at the same time, select Schedule a Remote Session. The audio and video features for remote testing will appear for all students in the session, even those taking the assessment in the classroom.
3.Optional: If the pop-up window for selecting an institution appears, select an institution and select Go.
4.The Schedule a Session window pops up.
5.In the Start and End fields, enter a start and end date for the test session.
6.Select Next. The Test Selection window appears.
7.From the Test Selection window, select the tests that you wish to administer in the scheduled session. For more information about selecting the tests, see the section Starting a Test Session Immediately.
8. In the Session Settings section, do the following:
a.In the Session Name field, enter a name for the scheduled test session.
b.Select Save Session.
9.The Session Information window pops up, displaying the session ID and link that you can share with students who will join the session. Select Close to return to the Upcoming Sessions tab. The scheduled session appears in the table.
- To retrieve the session ID and link to the session again, select the Share Link button. The Session Information window appears, displaying the session ID and link.
- To edit an upcoming session, select the Edit button
. From the Schedule a Session window that appears, you can edit the session dates, selected tests, and session name.
- To delete a session, select the Delete button
.
Join a Test Session
Once your scheduled test session window becomes active, the test session moves to the Active Sessions tab. You must join the test session first to open it to your students, at which point they can log in and select their tests.
1.To join a scheduled session, select the Active Sessions tab on the TA Site dashboard. The Active Sessions page appears, displaying the test sessions that are currently available.
2.Select Join for the session you want to start.
3. If the session is a remote session, a window pops up, requesting access to your speaker, microphone, and camera. Mark the I agree checkbox and select Allow.
- A separate window may also pop up in your web browser, requesting access to your webcam and microphone. Select Allow to ensure that students taking the test will be able to hear and see you during video conferences.
Students can now join the session and select their tests. You can approve students for testing and monitor the test session in the same way as you would monitor test sessions started immediately.
Note: If you accidentally close the browser window and need to return to the active test session, log in to the TA Site to rejoin your session before it times out. You cannot reopen closed sessions, but students can resume a test opportunity in a new session.
